The villa is designed for a couple and it’s situated on the south part of the island of Lefkada in Greece. The main characteristics of the site are the intense inclination of the land, the proximity to the water level and the views towards the Ionian Sea.
The design has its starting point on the sculptural creation of three levels by one linear element. This element is forming two levels of both interior and exterior spaces. The building is totally integrated on its surrounding environment due to its sculptural form and its proximity to the human scale.
The access to the villa is being achieved from the top level through a metal hanging staircase which leads to level 0, hosting the common spaces as the living room, dining room and kitchen. An interior staircase leads to level -1, which hosts the private spaces such as the master bedroom with its en-suited bathroom, a guests’ bedroom with its separated bathroom, a studio and secondary spaces.
The interior spaces are in constant dialogue with exterior terraces and decks which permit views towards all directions. On the upper terrace, the pool is designed to integrate into the building’s form enhancing the simplicity of the volume, which was a significant criterion on the design of the Villa.
